It is regard to all that a thesis is the proposition supported by relevant data, information, evidence, argument and results obtained. In fact, it is the assignment provided to the student in order to test their intellectual capacity in exploring the contents of a given topic. In writing a thesis, following are treated as the most acceptable thesis guidelines. Clarity and consistency is notoriously essential foe making a thesis unique and deserving one. The composed thesis must be printed. It is right to stress that the letter or text printed must be double-spaced with wide margins and clearly indented paragraphs. Title page is one of the significant parts of a thesis. It should contain the title, name of author, date, and the place of submission. For instance, a student is likely to submit his thesis in Birmingham University for the purpose of obtaining LL. M. degree; in the title page he is to add such proposition: “A thesis submitted to the Department of Law, Birmingham University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of laws. Again, declaration of authorization is another important section of a thesis. In this section, the researcher should affirm and certify that the said thesis paper is the demonstration of hard labor, integrity and intellectual contribution of the researcher. Acknowledgement is another important section. In this part, the researcher is needed to acknowledge the helps and assistances that he or she has taken from different sources including individuals and institutions.
Preparing table of contents is also the important section in a thesis paper. A table of content listing the title and page numbers of each chapter should be sketched out. Length of the word limit should also be carefully considered. This length of word limit depends upon the requirements of different institutions and authorities under the supervision of which the said researcher is conducting the thesis. Quotations are considered as the most important aspect. So, quotations should be used carefully and in brief manner so that the paper may be strengthened and get its sustainability and force. The quotations used must conform to the original one. If the quotations bear inaccuracy, certainly the paper would lose its validity. In writing a thesis, footnotes must be used to indicate all quotations and statistical data, information, notes, interpretation. It can also include the remarks on disagreement among authorities, additional quotations or essential information that cannot appropriately fit into the text. In addition to these, abbreviation should be properly cited. Again, appendices should also be rightly inserted. Citation style should be duly followed. In the body of the thesis, graphs, tables and figures are to be inserted in proper and suitable manner. Bibliography section is the important part of a thesis. After composing the whole thesis, the bibliography section should be inserted in due manner. The strength of a thesis paper greatly relies on the fact, how proper and accurate the citation style and bibliography arrangement in a thesis. It is well-recognized that bibliographies are to set alphabetically.
